Greetings everyone! We got back from Metrocon 2014 a few days ago and it was a blast! I have never seen that many people before all in one place. There were more patrons then had been originally anticipated. I believe the number was a little over ten thousand attendees! All of that action brought out the news crews. Someone played me a clip of one that showed the Dragon Spice booth in the background! So I ended up on tv for a few seconds! XD
Anyways, I just wanted to share a story with you all. Metrocon 2011 was the first convention I had ever attended. While the friend I had gone with was attracted to the panels like a fly to honey (particularly the Black Butler panels), I found myself enchanted by the Vendor's room. It was filled with so many objects I had never seen before. Items that one would never come across in the world outside the convention center that most of the populace called 'reality'.
I had decided, right then and there, as I stood in the middle of that hustling, bustling marketplace of anime cultural commerce, that I wanted to be a Vendor, too and so, here I am, three or so years later. I had the opportunity to represent at the same convention that inspired me to bring that sense of awe to others in the community. It has all finally come full circle, for which, I couldn't be happier. ^^
Anyways, as always, I took some pictures of the convention and have posted them below. Thank you to all of those who bought something at the Dragon Spice booth at Metrocon and supported this company. The next convention we will be attending is Mythicon 2014 in September. I can hardly wait to see you all there!
Have a Spicy day! ^^
